Timothy (TK) Johnson is a Jazz Piano Performance major at Cal State University Fullerton, currently studying with  the Grammy award winning Bill Cunliffe. Tim is the recipient of numerous Jazz festival awards for both piano and drums, including “Best musician” from the Irvine Jazz festival, soloist awards from the Reno Jazz Festival, and also the National Louis Armstrong Jazz Award.

On the gig, Tim always emphasizes authenticity and originality, while still providing music that the entire audience can enjoy. His compositions toy with the limits of jazz, and challenge the listener to open their mind to new ideas. Even still, he prioritizes the authenticity of a truly American music, and never fails to bring a respect for classic jazz.
